How Many Swordtails in a 10 Gallon Tank? (Calculator in Litres and Gallons)

Are you trying to calculate how many swordtails should be kept together in a fish tank? Want to know how many swordtails can fit in your aquarium? Swordtails are freshwater aquarium fish that can grow up to 4 inches.

The aquarium stocking rule of thumb is 1 gallon for every inch of fish. That means a 4 inch swordtail will require at least 4 gallons. When trying to decide the ideal number of swordtails for your aquarium size, you need to take into account other considerations. Are you housing juvenile swordtails, if so, you can fit more swordtails in one tank but be prepared to transfer your swordtails to a larger tank as they grow. Will you be breeding swordtails, then they will need more space.

We’ve created a Swordtail Tank Size Calculator below to calculate the number of swordtails you can put in your aquarium. It’s best to get the largest tank that fits your space. Your Swordtail will suffer if you overcrowd your aquarium with too many swordtails.
